Smoothing the Lead Scoring process

Marketing automation software has countless advantages to the marketing process for the companies that use it. One of the biggest benefits is lead scoring. Now we have a much more precised way to measure the warmth of the leads before they are passed from marketing to the sales. But this still is one area of marketing automation implementation. It has lot of where marketers stuck. Here are three ways to smooth the lead scoring process and ultimately equate to the higher conversion rate.

Lead Scoring Process

1. Decide for between the interest and Lead:
So let’s step back and ask, what is the purpose of lead scoring exactly? It designs the judge interest of prospects and prioritizes leads, what does it actually means to be interested. It is a harder question to answer and one that every person in organization will have a different answer for. Interest is simply surfing that can not be judge by one dimensional look at demographics, phonographic behavior, it needs to be a combination of all the above and that seems to be lapped out next the notion of need.

2. The notion of need
Need is the hardest element to measure and it requires the marketers work deeper into the outer demographic layer of their buyers. For this reason it is important to start any lead scoring exercise that we call buyers persona establishment. At the end of the day people will be just people and they buy same basic needs as we exhibit in our own personal lives. The absolute best way to build customer personas is to survey those, who have purchased in the past and ask them questions about their decision making process.

Once you have worked through that buyer persona process don’t let that slip away for more traditional target, it will get you right back your old scoring process. Marketers get very excited about their reliable lead scoring matrix that has quadrants and acronyms, that corresponds the combination of title and behaviors. The scoring models do not necessarily scale:

1. Rhey are confusing and
2. If there is turn over within the marketing department we see very difficult passive information from one generation with in marketing to the next.

What to do?
i. Simplify, Just start with the small base line demographic developments that correspond with the personas that you develop.
ii. Every new prospect gets categorized into a likely persona.
iii. It moves up and down based upon that track.

3. Extending the customer Cycle:
Our third tip is to extend scoring beyond the sales cycle into the customer’s cycle. Calling it lead scoring if some is misleading, after sales are made those customers should move into a post conversion activity pocket. In it you can focus continuingly in nurturing customer’s accounts, just like we did in the lead side of the house.

Once these steps are implemented you will notice fewer leads are sent immediately over to sales. This the hard thing for both marketers and sales professionals to embrace, but it is also important to shift away from those old scoring models to a newer model that truly supports lead score and buyer interest. They are not just someone who downloaded white paper and should be scored nurture based on that behavior. We are truly getting a full picture of buyer interest. A stronger lead scoring process will not only improve your conversion rate it will also help you get to know your buyer better in your organically developed systems that scales easily and engross your business. Marketing and sales department will conclusively become revenue driven and not numbers driven. You may actually see rise in actual leads but you will definitely see an impact on your buyer line.

The Free Tag

Free TagFree is always a soothing term when it comes to shopping be it for clothing or while choosing a hosting company and so enterprises often exploit the meaning of this term while endorsing their product, giving a serious dent on their consumers pocket. Apparently that doesn’t mean every one is using FREE as a gimmick.

Talking about web hosting services, most providers use the word Free with bandwidth. It could be genuine in a few cases but it is typically a gimmick on a large criteria.

Bandwidth is an important factor that should be given a close look while choosing a web hosting company. Bandwidth determines the amount of traffic you can receive on your web site. It actually sets the limit for you and your visitors to upload or download data through your website.

So while choosing a web hosting company pay a keen attention on the amount of bandwidth and limitation. It is advisable to read TOCs carefully while choosing the unlimited free bandwidth as unlimited bandwidth might put you in grey area. In general opinion it is always better to go for a hosting that clearly outlines the limits and sets the bar where all can see it. Moreover, on initial levels it’s wise to choose a hosting provider that allows you a good number of visitors and can offer upgrade in a descent cost with increase in visitors.

When you need help!

Choosing a web hosting provider can be perplexing mostly when you have so many options and each of them is claiming to be the best. So how can you distinguish, who is claiming right about being best?

Ofcourse you can never judge a book by its cover and similar is the case with hosting services. However, one thing that can help you decide and pick the best web hosting service is to see how active is this hosting provider in answering queries of its clients and what technical support it provides when you need help.

A good web hosting company always gives preference to its clients and put their queries as first priority. Lyne an SEO expert describes good customer service in best words, she says:

“You need to spend time understanding their needs. You have to deliver what they want, you have to understand their priorities and make sure your service can address them. It is not a done deal – it is a beginning of a relationship. It is time for you to prove you are the right solution for their problem, you are the man for the job.”

In a nutshell, a hosting provider that is willing to help its clients at all times and actually follows what it claims about technical support is defiantly a good web hosting provider and can prove to be your best companion in establishing your web presence. So if a web hosting provider is facilitating you with hosting for all CMSs such as WordPress hosting, Joomla hosting, etc, a good uptime and satisfying technical support then this hosting company that you are wiling to choose can probably be the best choice for you

He isn’t coming back …

not coming backDoes it ever occurred to you that you visited a shop in the middle of the day and it was closed when you were in a desperate need of something that has been commonly available in there. What did you feel like back then? Surely, it would not have been a good feeling and how about if you visited it a multiple times and you found it closed every time. Ofcourse you would never go back to such a place no matter how good their quality is or how low is their prices.

Similarly, no matter how well your website is designed or how good you rank in SERPs, it is of no use if a customer is trying to make a purchase and your website is down. You will not only lose the profit that visitor can give you but you will also lose a potential client, as he is not coming back any sooner…

Unlike typical shopping store, the best part about having a virtual store is that you can get most sales, as you are available to your customers 24/7 and so you can serve them as per their convenience. This results in long-term relation with your client. Thus, if you want to embrace good will and long-term relation with your client it is highly important that you (your website) is accessible at all time especially at peak hours of shopping.

Your choice of hosting decides how well you can serve your clients at all time. So while choosing a web hosting company checking the up-time they offer for any website is highly important. BMC Limited has been providing Web site construction, hosting and marketing. We support hosting for various CMSs including: WordPress Hosting, Joomla Hosting, Drupal Hosting, etc.

Small Test: Passed the Whole Link Juice by Subdomain Re-direction

Before a month, I have made a small analysis and redirect the subdomain to a newly born web page that has no page authority, no links and no history. The subdomain I redirected had some links from bookmarkings, blogs and an article. Let’s see how it worked for me!
Passed the Whole Link Juice by Subdomain 301 Re-direction

I have targeted 2 medium competitive keywords for a subdomain http://manchester.yellowgrid.co.uk both of them reached on the page 2 within a month. After convincing the client for an experiment I made a 301 redirection from the subdomain to a page here http://www.yellowgrid.co.uk/manchester-support.html and result was awesome. Keywords did well in SERPs, 1 is on the first page (10th Position) and other was on the 2nd page with some rankings upward.

This is the result for Google.co.uk – the whole link juice passed to the new page without any difficulty and within 4 days I have got the rankings for the new page.

Please share your experiments with us in the comments

Today, I am going to cover the topic “Domain Migration Process”. Please do not confuse with the domain migration, it is not included website redesign, URL structure or CMS migration. It is just how to pass the entire value of old domain to new domain without loosing potential customers and organic traffic.

Domain migration gives long term benefits to SEO especially when the new domain is more SEO friendly (i.e. targeted keywords in the domain or geolocalization with a ccTLD).
